Residential Power Washing

After power washing, any loose paint is scraped off manually using knives and wire brushes. This ensures a smooth and tight surface for painting. Loose boards are also nailed down, and minor wood repairs can be handled by SMG Painting's experienced crew. Cleanup is done after the scraping and repair work.

Once the preparation work is done, your home's surfaces are primed with premium bonding primers. This seals the surface and provides a sound foundation for proper adhesion of the new paint. Bare wood, metal surfaces, water stains, rust, and new carpentry are all primed. Plywood surfaces receive a specialty primer that addresses weather cracking typical of that material. In some cases, substantially new or weathered wood may require a full coat of primer.

Seams, joints, cracks, nail holes, and major wood joints are caulked to ensure a tight seal and reduce air leaks and moisture entry points. Any loose glazing is removed and replaced. For exterior entrances, structural joints, and wood windows, siliconized latex caulk is used.
